Jolie’s second directorial effort lands in theaters on Christmas Day in 2014
Universal has released the first three set photos from Angelina Jolie’s "Unbroken,” a drama that tells the life story of Olympian and war hero Louis "Louie” Zamperini.
The production photos give audiences the first look at Jack O’Connell ("Skins”) as Zamperini as Jolie directs a scene in which he is stranded in the middle of the ocean on a life raft after surviving a plane crash in World War II.
47 days adrift at sea was only the beginning of Zamperini’s struggle, as he was caught by the Japanese Navy and sent to a prisoner-of-war camp where he became the target of brutal Japanese soldier known only as "The Bird.”
Domhnall Gleeson ("About Time”), Finn Wittrock ("All My Children”), Garrett Hedlund ("Tron: Legacy”), Alex Russell ("Carrie”), and John Magaro ("Not Fade Away”) co-star in Jolie’s adaptation of author Laura Hillenbrand’s "Unbroken: A World War II Story of Survival, Resilience, and Redemption.”
