Angelina Jolie Kicks Off Award Season With an Honorary Oscar
Angelina Jolie accepted a special honor on Saturday, when she received the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award at the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' fifth annual Governors Awards in LA. The Oscar statuette was presented to acknowledge Angelina's achievements in activism, including her work for the United Nations and her film projects related to humanitarian issues: A Mighty Heart and In the Land of Blood and Honey. She was joined by Brad Pitt on the red carpet, along with their son Maddox, and she shared several sweet moments with Brad throughout the night. Last year's winner was Oprah Winfrey, and other past recipients include Elizabeth Taylor and Paul Newman.
