Thor: The Dark World (2013) Certificate PG-13 112 min - Action | Adventure | Fantasy Faced with an enemy that even Odin and Asgard cannot withstand, Thor must embark on his most perilous and personal journey yet, one that will reunite him with Jane Foster and force him to sacrifice everything to save us all. Director: Alan Taylor Stars: Chris Hemsworth, Natalie Portman, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård I feel like Thor is the best Marvel achievement to date in that it (a) celebrated its underdog status; (b) found a smart balance between its humor and emotion; and (c) featured the delicious Idris Elba. And I mean Loki is one of the best big-screen villains in popcorn-movie history. So knowing that the sequel reunites the original cast (including Tom Hiddleston), introduces Christopher Eccleston as Malekith the Accursed (a dark-elf overlord that has an entwi

Mr. Nobody (2009) Certificate R 141 min - Drama | Fantasy | Romance | Sci-Fi A boy stands on a station platform as a train is about to leave. Should he go with his mother or stay with his father? An infinity of possibilities rise from this decision. As long as he doesn't choose, anything is possible. Director: Jaco Van Dormael Stars: Jared Leto, Sarah Polley, Diane Kruger, Linh Dan Pham We will see how writer/director Jaco Van Dormael's slightly aged sci-fi concept holds up some four years after its original screenings. Electrician and sometimes rodeo bull rider Ron Woodroof lives hard, which includes heavy smoking, drinking, drug use (primarily cocaine) and casual sex. He is a stereotypical redneck: racist and homophobic. While in the hospital on a work related injury, the doctors discover and inform him that he is HIV+, and that he will most-likely die within thirty days. He begins to read whatever research is available about the disease, which at this time seems to be most effectively treated by the drug AZT. AZT, however, is only in the clinical trials stage within the US. Incredulous that he, as a dying man, cannot pay for any drug which may save
