Marion Cotillard chases the dream in international trailer for 'The Immigrant' It's getting to the time of year when early drafts of year-end Top 10 lists start forming in our heads -- and bar a sudden windfall of previously unseen masterpieces between now and December, one film I'm reasonably confident will be on mine is James Gray's extraordinary romantic melodrama "The Immigrant," in which Marion Cotillard plays a wide-eyed Polish ingenue tussled over by showman brothers Joaquin Phoenix and Jeremy Renner. I already waxed lyrical about the film at Cannes, where it found passionate devotees and yawning skeptics in equal measure -- for me, it was all about the rapturous execution of its classical plot, with nods to the greats of silent cinema both in performance (this, I maintain, is easily Cotillard's best work since her Oscar-winning turn in "La Vie en Rose") and the exquisite, Oscar-worthy cinemat

Whoops! James Taylor Sings "America the Beautiful" Instead of the National Anthem at World Series Whoops! James Taylor made a teensy little error in front of millions of people Thursday night. No big deal! The "Fire And Rain" crooner began singing the words to "America the Beautiful" during the pregame ceremony at Game 2 of the World Series. But like a true professional, he managed to seamlessly segue into the national anthem after the first line of the song. And despite saving himself merely seconds after making the flub, game goers and viewers still roasted Taylor for having made the mistake in the first place. &nbs

A Reboot of Charmed Is in the Works at CBS TV's No. 1 network may be ready to conjure up the Power of Three: Vulture has learned that a remake of the hit Aaron Spelling–produced WB drama Charmed is in the works at CBS. Details are scant right now, but Party of Five co-creator Chris Keyser and partner Sydney Sidner are co-writing the project, which insiders describe as a "re-imagining" of the original series about a sisterhood of witches who use their powers for good. CBS TV Studios, which has the rights to all of the Spelling library, is producing the project alongside the Tannenbaum Company. It's still very early in the development process: CBS has only ordered a script for a pilot, and it hasn't committed to filming anything. As Wonder Woman fans will attest, a pilot script does not a revival make. But it's not hard to see why this reboot is being put together. &nb

TV Review: NBC's 'Dracula' is a toothless reimagining [This review is way the heck too long, but I'm writing it on the behalf of Young Daniel, who dressed up as Dracula every Halloween for around 10 years.] NBC doesn't really know how to explain what "Dracula" is, which explains why they're doing it so poorly. "The legend takes new life," reads the primary tagline that you might have seen on billboards, buses and on-air promos for the drama, which premieres on Friday (October 25) night. The tagline across the show's official website takes a different approach and goes with "Jonathan Rhys Myers is America's Original Vampire." It's much easier to quantify why the latter approach is frustratingly off-base. First of all, NBC should probably know the star of its show spells his last name "Meyers." And that he's Irish. And that he's playing Carpathian in "Dracu

Grey's Anatomy: Karev has been staying out late listening to his dad play each and every night at a bar before finally working up the nerve to talk to him. There Are Currently Two Independence Day 2 Scripts Is it us or does Roland Emmerich sound like he's creeping ever closer to madness every time someone brings up Independence Day 2? The director revealed to Indiewire that there are currently "two versions" of the ID2 script in play, one of which does not include Will Smith's character at all. Emmerich maintained that things are "looking good” for the Smith-filled version, though. Then he "just laughed.” Hopefully Roland doesn’t stress too much about it. As long as he figures out a logical way to resurrect Harvey Fierstein's character, we'll all be satisfied. &n

Kendall Jenner Shares "Exhausted" Yet Sexy Kim Kardashian Look-Alike Selfie If this is what Kendall Jenner looks like when she's "exhausted"...well, more power to her. That's how she captioned a selfie she posted today that she snapped during a photo shoot for her and Kylie Jenner's PacSun holiday collection. And not only does she not look particularly tired, but with her kohl-rimmed eyes mostly hidden underneath the brim of her cap and her glossy pink lips arranged in a perky pout... She looks just like big sister Kim Kardashian! In another pic from the shoot, Kendall shows off her long legs in barely there leather shorts and stiletto gladiator heels.

Johnny Depp and Amber Heard Reunite in London for Dinner Date Maybe blonds do have more fun. A still disconcertingly light-haired Johnny Depp and Amber Heard, rumored to be on the rocks because they hadn't been seen together in quite some time, were spotted on their way out of Scott's Restaurant in London's Mayfair District earlier tonight. On-the-rocks rumors extinguished for now! For date night, Depp, 50, was doing his signature dark-suit, white-shirt-with-an-open-collar thing, while Heard, 27, wore a dainty pink dress. The handsome Rum Diary costars hadn't been photographed together since July. Depp, who debuted blond locks earlier this month (he might be blonder than his girlfriend now!), has been in the U.K. shooting Rob Marshall's big-screen adaptation of the Stephen Sondheim musical Into the Woods.
