CMAs will be 'Blown Away' by Carrie Underwood in Music Video race
Carrie Underwood is co-hosting the CMA Awards with Brad Paisley for the sixth year in a row, and she'll take home Music Video of the Year too. That's according to our predictors, who put her dramatic video for "Blown Away" at the head of the pack with 8/11 odds. She has never won the category before, but two of her competitors have.
Taylor Swift won in 2009 for "Love Story." That year Swift swept the CMAs, also collecting prizes for Entertainer, Female Vocalist, and Album of the Year. She's a contender in all of those categories again this year, but in this race she contends for her featured work on Tim McGraw's "Highway Don't Care," which our predictors rank third with 13/2 odds.
Miranda Lambert won in 2010 for "The House That Built Me." This year she's nominated for "Mama's Broken Heart," her fifth solo bid in the category, but she's an underdog with 16/1 odds, placing her fifth.
But Lambert could still win with the help of her husband, Blake Shelton, whose "Boys Round Here" ranks second with 6/1 odds. Backing up Shelton in the song and video are the Pistol Annies, who include Lambert along with Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley.
Little Big Town are nominated for "Tornado." The same music video was awarded at the ACM Awards in April, but our predictors don't expect that success to carry over to the CMAs, where they rank fourth with 14/1 odds.
Our users aren't holding out much hope for Lady Antebellum. Their video for "Downtown," featuring an appearance by "2 Broke Girls" star Beth Behrs, is in sixth with 50/1 odds.
