Ride Along (2014) Certificate PG-13 Action | Comedy Fast-talking security guard Ben joins his cop brother-in-law James on a 24-hour patrol of Atlanta in order to prove himself worthy of marrying Angela, James' sister. Director: Tim Story Stars: Ice Cube, Kevin Hart, Tika Sumpter, John Leguizamo Tim Story will probably never make another superhero film, but he's a crowd-pleasing comedy director with the can't-miss pairing of Ice Cube and Kevin Hart - the latter of whom has two handfuls of movie projects in the works. (In fact, we bet Ice Cube could get his much-desired fourth Friday project off the ground with Hart attached.) We feel like the Hart's character description was changed a couple times before cameras got rolling, too. &nb

Gwyneth Paltrow Gaining Weight to Improve Public Image? "Completely Absurd and Beyond Ridiculous," Says Rep Is Gwyneth Paltrow trying to gain weight for an upcoming movie in order to improve her public image? Wild reports surfaced this morning that the 41-year-old actress was under pressure to boost her public perception following negative press regarding her beef with Vanity Fair magazine. Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones (2014) Horror | Thriller After being "marked," Jesse begins to be pursued by mysterious forces while his family and friends try to save him. Director: Christopher Landon Stars: Andrew Jacobs, Molly Ephraim, Richard Cabral, Crystal Santos Since Latino audiences have flocked to the Paranormal Activity movies since we first got a look inside that tract house in San Diego, creator Oren Peli and Paramount are setting a trend by spinning off the franchise with a cast of young Latino performers. At first glimpse, we think the story is more interesting than anything that ever happened to Katie and Kristi, though we know their videotaped history is an inescapable influence. Christopher Landon (son of Michael) directs.

Grudge Match (2013) Certificate PG-13 113 min - Comedy | Sport A pair of aging boxing rivals are coaxed out of retirement to fight one final bout -- 30 years after their last match. Director: Peter Segal Stars: Robert De Niro, Sylvester Stallone, Kim Basinger, Alan Arkin Proof that Robert De Niro might just do anything at this stage of his career is he willingness to step into the ring against Sylvester Stallone to satirize the genre that brought both men the most legitimate acclaim of their respective careers. But some noteworthy writers have worked on this script, so hopefully the dialogue and scenarios won't be wasted on the entire cast. Can we hope for a foul-mouthed Kim Basinger?

47 Ronin (2013) Certificate PG-13 Action | Adventure | Fantasy A band of samurai set out to avenge the death and dishonor of their master at the hands of a ruthless shogun. Director: Carl Rinsch Stars: Keanu Reeves, Hiroyuki Sanada, Kô Shibasaki, Tadanobu Asano Keanu Reeves playing a samurai is the kind of casting that put us in a curious mood, but there's a larger story to focus on here: Carl Rinsch's first outing as director has sparked rumors and reports of a swollen production budget (somewhere around the $200 million mark) and an unhappy studio (Universal) who pulled an executive takeover in the editing suite. Add in an ever-shifting release date (originally planned for November 2012) and it's easy to see why this project has the biggest question mark hovering over it.

August: Osage County (2013) Certificate R 130 min - Comedy | Drama A look at the lives of the strong-willed women of the Weston family, whose paths have diverged until a family crisis brings them back to the Oklahoma house they grew up in, and to the dysfunctional woman who raised them. Director: John Wells Stars: Meryl Streep, Dermot Mulroney, Julia Roberts, Juliette Lewis Meryl Streep is back after a year off from the Oscar race with a central role in the film adaptation of Tracy Letts's Pulitzer Prize-winning play. With Letts translating his own work to the screen, we have great faith in second go-round as director (of course, he's helmed episodes of "Shameless", too). The only question mark: This is a Weinstein Company release, and since the studio invested in a clutch of year-end awards candidates, which one will emerge as their frontrunner? Each year
