Cameron Diaz Re-Recorded Her Lines in The Counselor Because She Sounded Too Much Like Rihanna

From bad teacher to bad accent?

It seems Cameron Diaz was forced to re-record her lines for the recent flop The Counselor because the actress originally spoke "with a full-on Rihanna-style accent," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Apparently, studio executives, while watching the film prior to its release, completely disliked it and insisted on the change.

Mind you, the powers-that-be didn't have a problem with Diaz's now-infamous scene in which her character removes her panties, straddles a Ferrari and grinds up against the windshield. But, hey, to each his own, right?

Justin Bieber Filmed Sleeping in Bed by Brazilian Girl

What a nightmare. A sleeping Justin Bieber appears to have been caught on camera by a young girl in Brazil. The 15-second video was uploaded to YouTube on Wednesday, Nov. 6, and in less than 12 hours it generated more than 2.7 million views.

The grainy footage shows Bieber wrapped in a gray blanket and snoozing on a bed. After filming the 19-year-old pop star napping, the brunette turned the camera on herself and blew Bieber a kiss.

The Canadian musician has yet to officially comment on the tape's existence via social media. But on Thursday, Nov. 7, Bieber uploaded an Instagram video of himself singing and captioned it, "What do tigers dream of." He was, of course, referencing the ditty Ed Helms sang in 2009's The Hangover.

Jennifer Lawrence Reveals Her Teen Crush Was "Early '90s" Justin Timberlake

We can count Jennifer Lawrence among the many teen girls who was at one time, or still is, infatuated with Justin Timberlake.

While promoting Catching Fire, the 23-year-old starlet participated in a Tumblr Q&A at Yahoo Headquarters on Wednesday, Nov. 6 with director Francis Lawrence. The event, which was part of the film's Global Fan Day, was moderated by Yahoo CEO Marissa Mayer.

When asked about who she liked like that back in the day, the Hunger Games actress admitted that she had a thing for a certain boybander.

"My teen crush [was] Justin Timberlake," J. Law, who was sporting her new pixie cut, told the audience to some laughs. "Early 90s Justin Timberlake though. Like 'N Sync Justin Timberlake."

Band Baaja Baaraat director Maneesh Sharma returns with up-and-comers Sushant Singh Rajput (recently seen in Kai po che!), Parineeti Chopra (co-star of Sharma's Ladies vs. Ricky Bahl) and first-timer Vaani Kapoor in lead roles. An unprecedented look inside the private world of J.D. Salinger, the reclusive author of The Catcher in the Rye.
Shane Salerno
Philip Seymour Hoffman, Edward Norton, Judd Apatow, John Cusack

It's rather cool to consider the biggest film spoiler of the year might have something to do with new works being published by an author who wrote a series of novels while in seclusion. If any documentary can outpace 20 Feet from Stardom at the box office, this is it.

Riddick (2013)

Certificate R 119 min   -   Action | Sci-Fi | Thriller

Left for dead on a sun-scorched planet, Riddick finds himself up against an alien race of predators. Activating an emergency beacon alerts two ships: one carrying a new breed of mercenary, the other captained by a man from Riddick's past.
David Twohy
Vin Diesel, Karl Urban, Katee Sackhoff, Jordi Mollà

If you could get Vin Diesel going on an uncensored review of his 15+ years in the industry and its attendant highs and many lows, it'd be worth the listen. Now that Fast Five has made Diesel a worldwide star, his development slate is beefing up with projects old and new. Something tells me Riddick's real victories will come from his overseas campaigns, and that U.S. audiences might be more inclined to catch up with him at home.

Liz W. Garcia

Kristen Bell and her likeable co-stars try their best to improve upon the material they were handed in Liz Garcia's first film, which has been compared, note for note, to the woeful Hello I Must Be Going.

Eugenio Derbez is no stranger to TV and movie audiences, and here he makes his big-screen directorial debut with a dramedy that has probably already been optioned for an English-language remake.

The rivalry between the manipulative boss of an advertising agency and her talented protégée escalates from stealing credit to public humiliation to murder.
Brian De Palma
Rachel McAdams, Noomi Rapace, Karoline Herfurth, Paul Anderson

No surprise the reviews are divided for Brian de Palma's remake of Alain Corneau's final film, Crime d'amour. The icy story is certainly not feminist, which is hard to reconcile as you watch Rachel McAdams and Noomi Rapace try to eat one another alive. So toggle off your ethics and enjoy, I guess.

Closed Circuit (2013)

Certificate R 96 min   -   Crime | Drama | Mystery | Thriller

A high-profile terrorism case unexpectedly binds together two ex-lovers on the defense team - testing the limits of their loyalties and placing their lives in jeopardy.
John Crowley
Eric Bana, Rebecca Hall, Jim Broadbent, Ciarán Hinds

Pretty much anyone who has been aware of this project's existence has cited the presence of Eastern Promises screenwriter Steve Knight as the main reason to see the film. We're excited for his return to the thriller genre as well as the imaginable chemistry between Eric Bana and Rebecca Hall, two fine actors with unfortunately inconsistent filmographies. And if you have yet to see director John Crowley's Boy A, I suggest seeking it out.

Former race-car driver Brent Magna is pitted against the clock when his wife is kidnapped by a mysterious villain. He commandeers a young woman's car and takes her on on a high-speed race against time.
Courtney Solomon
Ethan Hawke, Selena Gomez, Jon Voight, Paul Freeman

This premise makes me wonder if Warner Bros. is trying to find the balance between a Jason Statham movie and Ryan Gosling's arty and beloved Drive. Indie-horror maverick Courtney Solomon, who runs After Dark Films, is at the helm. And look at young Selena Gomez go; you have to admire her as she follows a path to lead her out of tweendom and into a hopefully prolonged career.

Certificate PG 92 min   -   Documentary | Music

A look at Niall, Zayn, Liam, Louis, and Harry's meteoric rise to fame, from their humble hometown beginnings and competing on the X-Factor, to conquering the world and performing at London's famed O2 Arena.
Morgan Spurlock
Liam Payne, Harry Styles, Zayn Malik, Niall Horan

Justin Bieber's pop-star days are probably numbered now that the attention once solely reserved for him has been refocused on this British boy band that was assembled in 2010 by Simon Cowell as he was prepping a new season of "X Factor". But Biebs will always have the superlative documentary in my mind because I know some sarcastic dudes who were reduced to tears by Never Say Never. The Grandmaster - Yi dai zong shi (2013)

Certificate PG-13 130 min   -   Action | Biography | Drama

The story of martial-arts master Ip Man, the man who trained Bruce Lee.
Kar Wai Wong
Tony Leung Chiu Wai, Ziyi Zhang, Jin Zhang, Chen Chang

Kung-fu aficionados have been waiting for Wong Kar Wai's new work for over ten years (he "announced" the project back in 2002); you have to travel back to 1994 for his last action piece, Dung che sai duk. Fitting, then, that he's putting his unique narrative spin on the genre's chief legend -- that of Ip Man, the Wing Chun master who mentored Bruce Lee -- and reuniting Wo hu cang long's Zhang Ziyi and Chang Chen. A probable worldwide smash, the film could turn out to be WKW's best performer in the U.S. -- especially if Harvey Weinstein puts his full weight behind it.

Harald Zwart
Lily Collins, Jamie Campbell Bower, Robert Sheehan, Jemima West

Cassandra Clare's six-novel Mortal Instruments series seems to possess enough dark magic, secret family histories, and love-triangle dynamics to please fans of both Harry Potter and Twilight, and casting Lily Collins as Clary Fray seems like a wise move in the post-Bella Swan era. Zachary Heinzerling
Ushio Shinohara, Noriko Shinohara, Ethan Cohen, Alex Shinohara

It's been a strong year for documentary portraiture, and Zachary Heinzerling's look at the enmeshed lives of a renowned artist, his dutiful wife, and her creative emergence should rank as one of the year's best received.  In a time when a filmmaker's success can be measured almost exclusively by the amount of online chatter their work generates, Lee Daniels seems aware that, ultimately, and in the name of longevity, it's about audiences to actually see your movie. Miranda Lambert Unveils Weight Loss at Cma Awards, Reveals Fitness Secrets—Watch Now

Miranda Lambert is one of the most outspoken stars in country music, but she let her body do all the talking at the 47th annual Country Music Association Awards in Nashville on Wednesday, Nov. 6. Wearing a plunging Roberto Cavalli gown, the blond star unveiled a noticeably thinner frame.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen Are Done Making Movies, Never Felt Like Actresses

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are no longer interested in making movies. Though they got their start on the family-friendly sitcom Full House in 1987 (and went on to start in a series of direct-to-video films), the 27-year-olds have decided to focus on expanding their fashion and beauty brands instead.

We like to work hard, and we like to try to do everything 100 percent. In fact, it's actually almost impossible for us not to. Sometimes you succeed and sometimes not so much, but it's learning."

Paulina Gretzky Reveals What Her Dad, Wayne, Has in Common With Her Fiancé

David Gordon Green
Paul Rudd, Emile Hirsch, Lance LeGault, Joyce Payne

As David Gordon Green's longtime fans have aged, and the director began to specialize in a curious strain of Hollywood comedy, some of us began to wonder if he'd ever find a project that merged the narrative prowess that made George Washington such a wonder and the dark fantasy showcased in Pineapple Express. Turns out Prince Avalanche and its improvising, Mario Bros. overalls-wearing co-leading men is the project for which we have been pining. But the thing is: We are a rather small, if loyal, aud ... Planes (2013)

Certificate PG 91 min   -   Animation | Adventure | Comedy | Family

A cropdusting plane with a fear of heights lives his dream of competing in a famous around-the-world aerial race.
Klay Hall
Carlos Alazraqui, Dane Cook, Stacy Keach, Brad Garrett

This expansion of the Cars universe serves as a reminder to adults that Disney owns Pixar -- and let's be clear that Pixar wasn't really involved with the animation here. Like Puss in Boots, the project was first set for a straight-to-DVD release; unlike Puss in Boots, we don't think this one will soar at home or abroad. Though we hear that Dusty Crophopper and friends will be back for a sequel.

We're the Millers (2013)

Certificate R 110 min   -   Comedy | Crime

A veteran pot dealer creates a fake family as part of his plan to move a huge shipment of weed into the U.S. from Mexico.
Rawson Marshall Thurber
Jason Sudeikis, Jennifer Aniston, Emma Roberts, Ed Helms

Remember Rawson Marshall Thurber - the guy who made a blockbuster out of a comedy about dodgeball? Well, he's finally back in the major-movie spotlight with a long-gestating pot-themed comedy that has seen directors and stars come and go like it was TV pilot season. Exactly what kind of shape the script is in at this point is unknown - many hands have touched it -- but I'm hoping the cast, which includes SNL's Jason Sudeikis, Jennifer Aniston, Emma Roberts, Ed Helms, and Nick Offerman, was encouraged to improvise. And, hey, if this movie manages to underwhelm, couldn't you get p ... Read more »

Thor Freudenthal
Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario, Brandon T. Jackson, Nathan Fillion

Part two of this trilogy based on the novels by Rick Riordan finds director Thor Freudenthal, who got Fox's other kid-franchise, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, off the ground, subbing in for Chris Columbus. All of the main young demigods are back, with a scaled-back (and therefore less expensive) adult supporting cast featuring Anthony Head as Chrion, replacing Pierce Brosnan.

Elysium (2013)

Certificate R 109 min   -   Action | Drama | Sci-Fi | Thriller

In the year 2154, the very wealthy live on a man-made space station while the rest of the population resides on a ruined Earth. A man takes on a mission that could bring equality to the polarized worlds.
Neill Blomkamp
Matt Damon, Jodie Foster, Sharlto Copley, Alice Braga

With its A-list cast, alien-planet setting, and layers of pre-release secrecy, Neill Blomkamp's follow-up to District 9 is this year's Prometheus. Without the post-release backlash? Or planned sequel.

Certificate R Drama | Sport

In the 70s two brothers battle killer waves, conservative society and ruthless bikers to kick-start the modern surf industry.
Ben Nott | Morgan O'Neill
Myles Pollard, Xavier Samuel, Sam Worthington, Lesley-Ann Brandt

A reportedly credible story of surfing's origins in Australia, Drift was shot in a month's time by co-directors Morgan O'Neill (who handled the narrative) and Ben Nott (who orchestrated the action).

Europa Report (2013)

Certificate PG-13 90 min   -   Horror | Sci-Fi | Thriller

An international crew of astronauts undertakes a privately funded mission to search for life on Jupiter's fourth largest moon.
Sebastián Cordero
Sharlto Copley, Michael Nyqvist, Christian Camargo, Embeth Davidtz

Wise move on director Sebastian Cordero and screenwriter Philip Gelatt's part to conceive of a science-fiction thriller that is heavy on story and a documentary feel - two elements that make it perfect for home consumption (Europa has been on VOD for several weeks already). Genre reviewers have praised the work for its realism, thrills, and performances from its international cast. I guess the thought here was to release the movie in theaters right around the time you can see star Sharlto Copley in Elysium as well.

The Canyons (2013)

Certificate R 99 min   -   Drama | Thriller

When Christian, an LA trust-fund kid with casual ties to Hollywood, learns of a secret affair between Tara and the lead of his film project, Ryan, he spirals out of control, and his cruel mind games escalate into an act of bloody violence.
Paul Schrader
Lindsay Lohan, James Deen, Nolan Gerard Funk, Amanda Brooks

Does box-office performance even matter anymore after your film project has been headline news in papers on both coasts, and the director and writer have moved on to other projects? (Note: Lindsay Lohan has nothing in production or development.) If it turns out that the movie is any good, audiences might be disappointed, right?

The Spectacular Now (2013)

Certificate R 95 min   -   Comedy | Drama | Romance

A hard-partying high school senior's philosophy on life changes when he meets the not-so-typical "nice girl."
James Ponsoldt
Miles Teller, Shailene Woodley, Kyle Chandler, Jennifer Jason Leigh

The Spectacular Now features a handful of talent on the verge of a major breakthrough: director James Ponsoldt is coming off the acclaimed but little-seen addiction drama Smashed, while stars Shailene Woodley and Miles Teller are gearing up to star in next year's Divergent (Woodley's name was recently in the news since she was scratched as Mary Jane Watson from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 -- a project that is putting out a lot of misdirection when it comes to its female characters). Reactions from the Sundance Film Festival were quite strong, though they also suggest the mov ... Read more »

The Smurfs 2 (2013)

Certificate PG 105 min   -   Animation | Comedy | Family | Fantasy

The Smurfs team up with their human friends to rescue Smurfette, who has been kidnapped by Gargamel since she knows a secret spell that can turn the evil sorcerer's newest creation - creatures called the Naughties - into real Smurfs.
Raja Gosnell
Neil Patrick Harris, Jayma Mays, Katy Perry, Hank Azaria

A Parisian setting, a kidnapped young woman dealing with her feelings of isolation? The art-film fan in us stops and wonders if this is a new project from Jean-Pierre Dardenne and Luc Dardenne. Perhaps they'll direct The Smurfs 3.

Bitch Stole My Look! Naomi Watts vs. Naomi Campbell in Alexander McQueen

It's like the classic Shakespeare quote goes... would a Naomi by any other last name look as chic?

Naomi Watts and Naomi Campbell are giving us the answer to that age old question, thanks to their matching minis. We'll admit we're shocked that the Diana actress and The Face judge chose the same Alexander McQueen design. It has a more youthful look than both fashion-lovers typically rock, even if it is skin-tight black leather. Plus, outside of this specific dress choice, we'd venture to guess these two have absolutely zero in common, but that just makes the battle of who wore it best more fun.

At first glance, the single difference between these identical styles is the necklace on the left Naomi. The Impossible star added some bling to her black leather look with a simple strand of sparkle, but it's lost inside that dippe ... Read more »

Vanessa Carlton Diagnosed with Ectopic Pregnancy

After announcing her pregnancy last month, singer Vanessa Carlton revealed on Facebook Tuesday that she was diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy and later underwent emergency surgery to remove her right fallopian tube.

As a result of ongoing pain from the surgery, Carlton, 33, has cancelled the first four November dates of her scheduled tour.

"I was diagnosed with an ectopic pregnancy, or in my case it was a fallopian pregnancy (the embryo settled in my tube, which is the width of a straw)," the A Thousand Miles singer wrote. "This is not considered a viable pregnancy because the fetus cannot develop and it is a high risk situation for the mother because of the potential for tubal rupture and internal bleeding."
