Let's see if Greu de pensionat director Robert Schwentke can turn another offbeat graphic novel into a box-office hit. Love the notion of Ryan Reynolds and Jeff Bridges starring together; though they're decades apart, both actors buffer wisecracking dialogue with undeniable charm. However, the yellow flag here is the presence of screenwriting team Phil Hay and Matt Manfredi, responsible for Æon Flux and -- more recently and even worse -- Infruntarea titanilor. Our main fear is the story's inherent weirdness won't translate for mainstream audiences.
