The long-rumored Entourage movie may become a reality today, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Although the movie got the green light from Warner Bros. in January, two years after the Entourage series finale in 2011, execs have been negotiating contracts with the cast to determine who will return for the movie. Today, actor Jerry Ferrara, "Turtle" on Entourage, appeared on The Wendy Williams Show and said the film is "looking real good" and that the final deal "could be closed today." He said he's hopeful that shooting will begin in January.
Reports had been circulating that Ferrara and Adrian Grenier, who plays actor Vincent Chase in the series, had been slowing the process with demands for more money. Previously, actor Jeremy Piven's pay was rumored to the root of the cast's salary disagreements, according to THR. Ferrara asserted today, though, that the holdups had more to do with scheduling. "Here's what I'll say about holdouts: Athletes hold out when they have a contract they don't want to honor," he said. "No one's holding out. It just takes a little time. We're actually on schedule."
Warner Bros. reportedly want to keep the movie's budget below $30 million. Warner Bros. has allegedly insisted that shooting begin in January for the film so that it can receive a California tax credit.
