The Brass Teapot (2012) Certificate R 101 min - Comedy | Fantasy | Thriller When a couple discovers that a brass teapot makes them money whenever they hurt themselves, they must come to terms with how far they are willing to go. Director: Ramaa Mosley Stars: Juno Temple, Michael Angarano, Alexis Bledel, Billy Magnussen Partially credit (or blame) "Girls" for the abundance of stories about young people facing an all-too-bleak professional/economic climate, though we say angst and questionable morals/behavior are more fun to watch than twentysomething ennui. Hopefully Ramma Mosley's morality tale has a narrative worthy of its formidable cast. &

Free Angela and All Political Prisoners (2012) 102 min - Documentary A documentary that chronicles the life of young college professor Angela Davis, and how her social activism implicates her in a botched kidnapping attempt that ends with a shootout, four dead, and her name on the FBI's 10 most wanted list. Director: Shola Lynch Stars: Angela Davis, Eisa Davis Director and intermittent "Seasame Street" actress Shola Lynch hasn't made a feature documentary since 2004's Chisholm '72: Unbought & Unbossed, and knowing she's back in fighting-female mode with a profile on the heroic and poetic Angela Davis has us primed for what might be the most definitive work on Davis to date -- though The Black Power Mixtape 1967-1975 did her justice, too.

Upstream Color (2013) 96 min - Drama | Sci-Fi A man and woman are drawn together, entangled in the life cycle of an ageless organism. Identity becomes an illusion as they struggle to assemble the loose fragments of wrecked lives. Director: Shane Carruth Stars: Amy Seimetz, Frank Mosley, Shane Carruth, Andrew Sensenig Shane Carruth self distributes his second film, a follow-up to the treasured sci-fi mind-boggler, Primer. Carruth's candid talk about the current state of independent filmmaking and distribution is very worthwhile reading.

Simon Killer (2012) 101 min - Drama A recent college graduate flees to Paris after a break-up, where his involvement with a prostitute begins to reveal a potentially dark recent past. Director: Antonio Campos Stars: Brady Corbet, Mati Diop, Lila Salet, Michaël Abiteboul Antonio Campos's follow-up to Afterschool was inspired in part by the work of writer Georges Simenon, and the director developed the script with his two leads, Brady Corbet and Mati Diop. We understand the overall story is more of a character/mood piece than a thriller undulating with the potential for violence. Definitely intrigued here. &n

The Company You Keep (2012) Certificate R 121 min - Drama | Thriller A former Weather Underground activist goes on the run from a journalist who has discovered his identity. Director: Robert Redford Stars: Robert Redford, Brit Marling, Stanley Tucci, Nick Nolte The trailer for Robert Redford's latest feels like a montage of Best Picture Oscar moments, and it showcases a stacked roster of some seriously most-wanted performers. Of Shia LaBeouf's recent work, this is the performance that has received the least press -- only because he wasn't intimidating his female co-star (Lawless), dropping acid (The Necessary Death of Charlie Countryman), or having sex on camera (Nymphomaniac).

Jurassic Park (1993) Certificate PG-13 127 min - Adventure | Sci-Fi During a preview tour, a theme park suffers a major power breakdown that allows its cloned dinosaur exhibits to run amok. Director: Steven Spielberg Stars: Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Richard Attenborough Even if the long-planned fourth installment doesn't arrive for Summer 2014 (though Rise of the Planet of the Apes' writers are currently working on the project), Dr. Alan Grant, his crew, and those dinosaurs who now look so dated will get the 3D overhaul/cash-grab. It would be cool to take kids to see this for their first time. &n

Evil Dead (2013) Certificate R 91 min - Horror Five friends head to a remote cabin, where the discovery of a Book of the Dead leads them to unwittingly summon up demons living in the nearby woods. The evil presence possesses them until only one is left to fight for survival. Director: Fede Alvarez Stars: Jane Levy, Shiloh Fernandez, Jessica Lucas, Lou Taylor Pucci Yes, it's a touchy situation, to discuss this particular remake, which was being developed as Sam Raimi's Spider-Man legacy was rebooted. The announcement that Diablo Cody would co-author the screenplay yielded divided fans even further, even though Jennifer's Body will one day earn its due status as a cult classic. Loving the notion of an addled female protagonist, by the way, and star Jane Levy is great on "Suburgatory". Fede Alvarez earned the director's chair after his short Ataque de pánico! became a viral sensation.

Rack Report: Victoria Beckham's Boobs Have Never Looked Better! We've tried several more tactful ways to say this, but the fact is, Victoria Beckham's rack looks smokin' hot! We cannot figure out if there's a push-up bra, sewn-in bustier or some kind of strange optical illusion involved, but whatever it is, it's working. The best part is that the black, sheer overlay keeps the extreme cleavage looking totally sophisticated. &n

Jessica Simpson Goes Makeup-Free While Grabbing Mexican Food With Daughter Maxwell & Family Makeup is not necessary when you look like Jessica Simpson. The singer and mother of two glowed tonight after deciding to go au naturel during a trip to pick up some Mexican food in Calabasas, Calif., with her adorable baby girl Maxwell and soon-to-be hubby Eric Johnson (who didn't get snapped in the photo by paparazzi). Simpson kept it simple in a black-and-white ensemble which included a pair of skinny pants, black blazer and black high heels, while her daughter rocked a pair of jeans, a blue T-shirt and bright red high-top sneakers with a what-are-you-lookin'-at facial expression. &nbs

Quincy Jones Sues Michael Jackson's Estate for $10 Million Maybe Quincy Jones didn't want to be startin' somethin', but somethin' has begun, nonetheless. The 80-year-old music legend, who coproduced Michael Jackson's biggest albums, including Thriller, has filed a $10 million lawsuit against the late pop icon's estate, alleging that "clandestine arrangements" put in place have served to cheat him out of royalties he's due for his contributions to Jackson's earlier work. Per court documents obtained by the Hollywood Reporter, Jones claims that the recordings he worked on have been edited and remixed in a way to deprive him of his deserved cut from projects like the This Is It soundtrack and the two current Cirque du Soleil shows that utilize Jackson's music. &nb

Katy Perry and Robert Pattinson Karaoke Together—Watch the Throwback Awesomeness! Katy Perry is great in concert, but have you seen her karaoke with Robert Pattinson? Well, now's your chance! In a video which recently popped up online today, the "Roar" singer and close pal R.Pattz offer up a lively duet of Boyz II Men's "I'll Make Love to you," and one almost certainly aided by whatever it is they're sipping on. The clip, which was filmed at the Burbank, Calif. karaoke club Dimples a few years ago, finds Perry at one point sitting in the Twilight hunk's lap as they give it their best R&B spin. But not to worry, John Mayer, she and Pattinson have never been romantic. &

Anchorman 2 Has Enough Material for an Alternate Version Anchorman 2 director Adam McKay says there's enough leftover footage to cut together an entire second version of the movie. And not just Wake Up Ron Burgundy–style additional material — a full-on alternate version of the movie. "We did so much improv on this one that we can literally replace every single joke in the movie and put in alt scenes and alt improv runs," McKay tells Empire. "I think it would be really funny to put it in theatres for midnight showings. I know that I personally, if I loved a movie and someone told me that, like if Airplane! had been released with all-new jokes, I'd be like, 'you've got to be fucking kidding me!' I’d see it in a second," he says. &n

Survivor's Brad Culpepper: I'm Not a Sexist Brad Culpepper understands that you either love him or hate him, and he's fine with that. As one of the alpha males on Survivor: Blood vs. Water, Culpepper's big personality rubbed some of his tribesmates the wrong way. He was blindsided on day 10, when his tribe sent him to Redemption Island. After losing a challenge on day 14, he was sent home – much to the dismay of his wife, Monica. It's not Culpepper's first time in the public eye: The 44-year-old Tampa, Fla., lawyer was a defensive tackle in the NFL for nine seasons. Here, he talks about being blindsided, his puzzle prowess and what he really thinks of women. You took a lot of heat this season, Brad. Here's your opportunity. What do you want us to know? Probably the worst thing that people said about me was that I was a misogynistic person. I'm not. So I want everyone to know that I am not a

Marion Cotillard chases the dream in international trailer for 'The Immigrant' It's getting to the time of year when early drafts of year-end Top 10 lists start forming in our heads -- and bar a sudden windfall of previously unseen masterpieces between now and December, one film I'm reasonably confident will be on mine is James Gray's extraordinary romantic melodrama "The Immigrant," in which Marion Cotillard plays a wide-eyed Polish ingenue tussled over by showman brothers Joaquin Phoenix and Jeremy Renner. I already waxed lyrical about the film at Cannes, where it found passionate devotees and yawning skeptics in equal measure -- for me, it was all about the rapturous execution of its classical plot, with nods to the greats of silent cinema both in performance (this, I maintain, is easily Cotillard's best work since her Oscar-winning turn in "La Vie en Rose") and the exquisite, Oscar-worthy cinemat

Whoops! James Taylor Sings "America the Beautiful" Instead of the National Anthem at World Series Whoops! James Taylor made a teensy little error in front of millions of people Thursday night. No big deal! The "Fire And Rain" crooner began singing the words to "America the Beautiful" during the pregame ceremony at Game 2 of the World Series. But like a true professional, he managed to seamlessly segue into the national anthem after the first line of the song. And despite saving himself merely seconds after making the flub, game goers and viewers still roasted Taylor for having made the mistake in the first place. &nbs

A Reboot of Charmed Is in the Works at CBS TV's No. 1 network may be ready to conjure up the Power of Three: Vulture has learned that a remake of the hit Aaron Spelling–produced WB drama Charmed is in the works at CBS. Details are scant right now, but Party of Five co-creator Chris Keyser and partner Sydney Sidner are co-writing the project, which insiders describe as a "re-imagining" of the original series about a sisterhood of witches who use their powers for good. CBS TV Studios, which has the rights to all of the Spelling library, is producing the project alongside the Tannenbaum Company. It's still very early in the development process: CBS has only ordered a script for a pilot, and it hasn't committed to filming anything. As Wonder Woman fans will attest, a pilot script does not a revival make. But it's not hard to see why this reboot is being put together. &nb

Director: Quentin Dupieux Stars: Jack Plotnick, Todd Giebenhain, Eric Judor, Alexis Dziena Quentin Dupieux might be a film-festival programmer's dream with his surrealistic narrative approach, oddball visuals, and composer alter ego (Mr. Oizo). I'm sure it was a blast to see Rubber, his last outing, in a theater full of pepped-up journalists and general film enthusiasts, but personally the hype didn't translate the two separate times I watched it. Director: Rodney Ascher Stars: Bill Blakemore, Geoffrey Cocks, Juli Kearns, John Fell Ryan Rodney Ascher's work is billed as a "subjective documentary" on hidden meanings in the film version of The Shining. It's definitely a crowd pleaser for people who thought the world might end last year, or those who have played Dark Side of the Moon while watching Vrajitorul din Oz. Interviewees offer up a series of insights that blur the line between credibility and fanaticism, but Ascher knows how to respect his cast while entertaining his audience. The notion that Stanley Kubrick created the film as a way of dealing with his feelings about the Holocaust and American imperialism are viable, while some people take what can only be continuity errors to another level of
